Shop Setup Guide

Shops are a way that players can sell items for other items. Player shops are currently located on the Nether roof. 

Purchasing a shop plot

A shop plot is a section of the shopping area dedicated for you to sell your items. To buy a shop plot, you must first acquire Shop Plot Tokens, which are earned by voting for the server. 10 vote points earn you one Shop Plot Token. You can vote here: tws.gg/vote.

Once you have acquired enough Shop Plot Tokens, You can buy a shop by placing the appropriate number of those tokens in an available plot’s barrel, then letting the staff know.

Building your shop

Once you have purchased a shop plot, a TWS staff member will confirm your purchase. Once purchased, you can begin building! Your building can be as simple or complex as you'd like, but our community encourages creativity.

Depending on which shop you purchased, you will have more or less room to build. The build plot sizes and maximum heights are as follows:

Using trading villagers and chests

To get started, you will need the following items:

  • A shopkeeper villager spawn egg - You can purchase a shop villager spawn egg from the villager near spawn in the Nether
  • A chest
  • At least one of the item you want to sell
  1. Acquire your shopkeeper - Purchase your shopkeeper at the nether hub.
  2. Place your chest - This chest should be dedicated for items for sale - items you are selling will be taken from this chest, and the payment you receive will be deposited into it.
  3. Connect your shopkeeper to the chest - Hold the spawn egg in your main hand, then right-click once onto your designated sale items chest. Information regarding shop creation will appear in the chat.
  4. Deposit the items you are selling into the chest - This is necessary to allow your shopkeeper to access those items.
  5. Choose your shopkeeper type - Hold shift and right-click into the open air, this will switch between the villager types: Villager, Snowman, Witch, Evoker, Vindicator, Illusioner, Sign. The selected shopkeeper type will appear in the chat.
  6. Place your shopkeeper - Right-click on an open block to place your shopkeeper villager.
  7. Set a quantity to what you are selling - Hold shift and right-click on the shopkeeper to open its GUI. The item you are selling will appear at the top. Increase the quantity of items by clicking once to increase by 1, or shift click to increase by intervals of 10. 
  8. Set a price to what you are selling - Within the same GUI menu, click the barrier blocks below your item to increase your price - pricing is in diamonds and diamond blocks. Once again, clicking once increases by 1, shift clicking increases by intervals of 10.
  9. Customize your shopkeeper if desired - Enter the GUI menu by holding shift and right-clicking on the villager. You will see the customizable options at the bottom (profession, variant, badge color, etc.).

Misplaced a shop villager? Don't worry! If you want to move your shop villager, simply click [needs info] within the villager's GUI and the spawn egg will be returned to your hand.
