First of all, welcome! We are happy that you are wanting to join our server! The Wooden Spoon is a whitelisted, semi-vanilla Minecraft server.

What's so special about TWS?

  • A friendly community - Most people who learn about TWS learn through their friends! TWS has a kind community that often works together on projects. One of our events include fighting the Ender Dragon together as a community.
  • Mature players - Our maturity requirement ensures a certain level of respect from our players.
  • Trust-based server - TWS does not use mods for plot claiming, meaning each player is thoroughly vetted through their application.
  • No teleport commands - We use nether ice bridges and portals. Although it might seem like a big task, this brings a sense of community by encouraging players to help others, to physically make the trip to their friend's location to trade, lend materials, and chat.

How to get whitelisted:

1. Review the rules

Our server rules can be viewed at tws.gg/rules. 

2. Apply to the server

Apply at tws.gg/apply. Note that your application may take a few days to review, do not message staff regarding your application unless it has taken longer than [time period]. 

3. Join the Discord

You can join the discord at discord.tws.gg. Note that TWS requires linking between Discord and your Minecraft account. This is not only to filter out bots, but to also ensure you have opportunities to learn about and vote on server changes, events, interact with your fellow TWS players, and keep up with whatever is going on.

4. Play!

Once your application is reviewed, one of our staff members will contact you regarding if it has been accepted. If it is accepted, you will then be whitelisted and you can play!  The server address is play.tws.gg

How to get started in-game:

  • You will receive a book with some basic information - read through it and ensure you understand the basics.
  • Gather resources from the resource Overworld and resource Nether world. There are portals at spawn (0,0) to get to the resource worlds.

Note that resource gathering should be done in the Resource worlds and building in the regular ones. The resource worlds can and will be reset so build what you want there but it's not protected!

  • Travel anywhere greater than 500 blocks from the build world spawn, and try not to build too close to others. Our rules state 200+ blocks from others, but giving more space is always appreciated.
